His past experience, provides him a commanding knowledge of architectural design, construction methods and design feasibility. He has a commanding knowledge of energy conservation practices and has demonstrated this by successfully completing the LEED Green Associate exam and strives to implement conservation strategies into each project.

Scott's knowledge of building energy conservation awarded him an appointment to the International Code Council’s Residential Energy Conservation Code Development Committee for the 2018-2019 term. This 12 person committee was tasked with the review and evaluation of potential code changes submitted to the ICC by industry professionals. The approved changes were incorporated into the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). The IECC code is updated every three years and is the foundation for all state and local energy codes throughout the country.

Scott's dedication to public service and volunteer work extends beyond the national level as he has served on many local boards and committees. Most notably he was appointed to a volunteer position with the City of Kingston, as a consulting Architect on the Pike Plan Committee from 2015-2017.
