Let me guide you on your next design project.
Hudson Valley Architecture is a small design firm that specializes in all stages of residential and light commercial Architectural design. We are determined to enhance the beauty of the diverse architectural landscape of the Hudson valley region. Every project allows us to create a unique and personalized design, regardless of scale or style. We strive to create luxurious, sustainable architecture that is more energy efficient, technologically advanced and less dependent on fossil fuels.
“Architecture is not about space but about time”, Vito Acconci. Here in the Hudson valley, we are extremely lucky to live in an area with such rich history. We are encircled by hundreds of years of history in the buildings that surround us. It is our responsibility to retain that rich history for our descendants to enjoy long after we’re gone. That being said, it is apparent that our lives, values and needs have evolved from those who inhabited these buildings before us, and as such they need to be made to fit our changing livestyles, become more energy efficient and more technologically advanced.

"Architecture is an expression of values" Norman FosterAn experienced, licensed Architect, like myself, can play a vital role in the renovation of your building, office and especially your home. I have had the honor to grow up in this area my entire life. I have studied the local Architecture and understand the rich history of the area.
My decades of experience in the construction and Architectural fields have given me an appreciation of the local architecture and allow me to create renovations and additions that not only help to make a building fit the needs of today’s clients but also do it in a sympathetic manner that adds to a building's style without diminishing its historic value. |
A construction process can begin as a new and exciting experience, but can quickly change into an overwhelming and frustrating event. Contractor disagreements, overwhelming product decisions, changes and delays during construction can ruin the homeowners’ experience.
It is my goal to become your partner throughout the design and construction phases of the project. My experience is here to guide you in your material, product and contractor selections to reduce the stress and maximize your comfort, enjoyment and most of all your budget. Although delays can and do happen, finding a professional and ethical general contractor can help to reduce the stresses that delays can produce. My experience in bidding and contract negotiations can help you select the right contractor for your project. |
Energy conservation is a big reason for todays renovations. Homeowners, now more than ever, are concerned about their impact to the environment and want to do their part in reducing their carbon footprint and limit their dependence on fossil fuels. Not only do these changes improve our environment but they can also benefit the homeowners by reducing utility bills.
There are many paths towards energy conservation including; upgrading older or out of date HVAC equipment, installing new or additional insulation, reducing air infiltration and installing new photovoltaic (P.V.) cells. Within these types of improvements there are many different grades of products, and although we'd all like to select the best grade and highest rated products, the reality is our budgets limit our choices. A reliable tradesman can help to guide your selection within their specialty but can not give you guidance in other areas.
My training and experience provides me the ability to look at a building holistically and help guide your decisions, in respect to all trades, to receive the greatest savings and keep you within your budget. My expansive knowledge of conservative techniques and building methods can greatly reduce a building's environmental impacts. Let me use my experience to help you in your next project.
